In the fall of 2016 I visited my cousin in the French Alps. She has chosen to live a life as free as possible - in summer, she's a shepard in the mountains and in winter she travels through southern Europe in her van. Although, or maybe because, my life is far away from hers, I am greatly interested in her lifestyle and what freedom actually means nowadays.
For now, the project is called 'La cigale et la fourmi' (the grasshopper and the ant), after a fable that rejects joy as a way of living and celebrates a hard-working life instead.
In the meantime, I am still working on a publication of Doug's cabin with editor Ellen Sanders and designers PutGootink.
